José Manuel Moreira

Universidade de Aveiro, Portugal

He holds degrees and a PhD in Economics and Philosophy. He is a retired Professor of Social and Political Sciences at Universidade de Aveiro. He served as Director of the Master in Public Administration, a joint programme between Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) and Universidade de Aveiro (UA).

He has contributed to the rediscovery and dissemination in Portugal of four major areas: economic and business ethics, the Austrian tradition of economics, economic analysis of politics, and governance and public policy.

He is active as a columnist and lecturer, and collaborates with the Institute for Political Studies at Universidade Católica Portuguesa (IEP-UCP) as well as with the Ordem dos Engenheiros (Southern Region) in the Ethics and Deontology course.

He is the author of over 150 books and articles, published in national and international journals. He is a member of the Mont Pèlerin Society, the Board of Patrons of the Instituto +Liberdade, and has previously served on the governing bodies of the Portuguese Political Science Association.
