Alejandro Chafuen

Alejandro A. Chafuen is a Senior Executive Fellow at the Acton Institute. He served as President and CEO of the Atlas Network from 1991 to 2018, and is currently Chair of the Board of the Chase Foundation of Virginia. A graduate of Grove City College and the Universidad Católica Argentina in Buenos Aires, he also holds a PhD in Economics, completed under the supervision of Dr Hans Sennholz, a disciple of Ludwig von Mises.

He is a regular commentator on economic, security, and strategic threats in Latin America, as well as on the intersection of economics and ethics. Chafuen contributes to Forbes.com and is the author of Faith and Liberty, published in multiple languages and in various editions in Spanish, Slovenian, Chinese, Czech, Italian, and Portuguese.

He is one of the world’s leading specialists in the economic thought of Thomist and late Scholastic authors. He served as President of the Philadelphia Society (2017–2018) and has been a member of the Mont Pèlerin Society since 1980.
